Black History Month with Dr. Joann Anokwuru & daughter Alexandra Anokwuru

Introducing our First Instagram Live.

Our first episode of “My Journey, My Roots” streamed on Saturday, February 24th at 7 PM PST via Instagram.

In celebration of Black History Month, our first episode features mother and daughter duo Dr. Joann Anokwuru and Alexandra Anokwuru. We engaged in many meaningful discussions about their Nigerian heritage, their experiences with racism and specifically tokenization in Canada, and the importance of a community with shared roots. The conversation also brought a compelling intergenerational perspective on migration. A huge congratulations and thank you to the wonderful guests of our first episode. Please take a look at our recorded live session on Instagram.

Joann mentioned two books she wrote/co-wrote, you can find their Amazon links here and here.
